Credentials and Experience

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #104420) working in Marin County and online, and a professor on the Counseling Psychology faculty at Dominican University of California. I am also a member and teacher with the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group.

I completed my graduate studies at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and have a law degree from the University of Manchester in England. Before moving into private practice, I was an associate psychotherapist with the Bay Area Trauma Center and an adjunct professor at The Wright Institute.

As part of my clinical training, I’ve worked in a wide variety of settings including the First Responder Support Network, the Petaluma Counseling Center, and various high schools utilizing Columbia University’s TeenScreen program. I have extensive training in the practice and application of psychodynamic and attachment-focused psychotherapy, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).

About Paige Pires de Almeida, LMFT

I'm a life-long seeker and believe in people's potential to make meaning out of difficult experiences. In my travels looking for growth, I've participated in my own therapy and explored different contemplative practices. I’ve been married for over 15 years and am a mother to two children. I'm a fan of live music, time at the beach, experiencing different cultures, and an avid science fiction reader.

Paige’s PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS INCLUDE:

In my clinical work and consultation, I synthesize relational psychodynamic, existential, and mindfulness perspectives.

I am particularly interested in advancing the theory and understanding of how psychopathology develops, and how to optimize treatment outcomes through making psychotherapy more effective.
